MAGS BAR Custom Color Retrofit
Custom Color MAGS BAR starts with Standard Finish
Custom color glazing systems that work properly are hard to find. Our system, MAGS BAR, which stands for Multiple Application Glazing System, was designed when it became apparent that there wasn’t much on the market that worked well. The standard finish on the BAR is Class 1 Black anodized. Class 1 is the best finish for anodized as it doesn’t fade or peel. This is the official description of Class 1: Class I coating is a high performance anodic finish used primarily for exterior building products and other products that must withstand continuous outdoor exposure. Class 1 anodized has a ten year warranty on fading and peeling.
Custom Color Finish:
Whenever we have the need for a custom color we always use powder coating for these applications. The official definition of powder coating is: The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a “skin”. The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is mainly used for coating of metals, such as aluminum extrusions. There are over 6500 colors to chose from. Powder coating has a five year warranty on fading and peeling.
