| February 12, 2006 | | How do you handle a leaking skylight? | Most people think they should find a roofer when their skylight starts leaking. First, the problem is most roofers do not understand the make-up of a skylight. It is important to know how one functions before you attempt to repair it. Second, we do understand roofs. We work on and repair roofs every day. We actually repair a roof better than most roofers because we do not take any shortcuts on the flashing that we use. (See the article on definitions if you don't know what flashing is) Our flashing is 26 gauge and extends out 9" beyond the skylight not 4" or 6" that most roofers use.
