SRCC Certifies Velux Solar Water Heating System

SRCC implements programs and national rating standards for solar energy equipment. These programs and ratings allow government agencies, utility companies, and interested organizations a means of ensuring that solar products used in their programs are certified and rated. The SRCC certification programs also provide a rational basis for tax credit and rebate qualifying regulation as well as a means for setting codes and standards.

As the use of SRCC certification grows, SRCC strives to keep a running list of the locations where one or more of the certification programs are required for the installation of a system or for payment of incentives (tax credit, rebate, etc.).

VELUX Solar Water Heating Systems are qualified under SRCC regulations.  This allows VELUX customers to qualify for Federal tax rebates regarding solar water heating systems. The Category C Clear Day Rating of 29 kBTU/Day was achieved for each Model CLI U12 4000 collector. Therefore the typical two collector system is rated at 58,000 BTU/day.
