The Time is Right for Solar Water Heating in Colorado

New Incentives from Local and State government are added to Federal Rebates for Domestic Solar Water Heating

As using renewable solar energy for water heating is becoming recognized as an excellent long term investment, additional state and local incentives are continuing to reduce the initial investments required.

Partnerships between the Governor's Energy Office and partipating utilities are providing rebates of $1,500. to $3,000. in addition to the existing Federal Tax Credits of $2000. for residential installations of SRCC Certified systems.(starting in June 2008)

In addition, municipalities are studying ways to lessen the burden on homeowners by simplifying the permitting process and even eliminating permit fees for certain renewable energy installations, solar water heating included. (such as Littleton, Colorado)

This blog will summarize these opportunities for Colorado Front Range homeowners in the very near future, so stay tuned.  There are no references or links for this little message, but the forthcoming related articles will have the sources quoted and linked.
