| Some insurance companies will want to repair your acrylic skylight instead of replacing it. | This is not what you pay your insurance company for. Granted it is cheaper to replace just the outer lens on your skylight but we have seen a lot of problems with these repaired skylights down the line. (See other related blogs in Denver Skylights on the Weblogs list to the left of your screen) It is much better to replace the entire skylight as this is a unit that is assembled in a manufacturing plant and comes with a warranty. Companies that replace domes in the field frequently do not have the same quality or quality control. Also, the gasketing frequently does not get replaced. With a new skylight you also get new technology such as thermal break frames or the just to upgrade to a better skylight such as a Velux FCM glass skylight.
